A decade of dreams...

Whoop there it is...

I woke up this morning to do the usual walk down Facebook memory lane, and this gem was the first to pop up.

I read the title to myself and the reality of it hit quite suddenly, "PE band going places.." we certainly were going places at the time, but fast forward 10 years later and it would be me that would eventually be "going places".

I was 19 years old in this article you see above you, and you can read some of the fine print. I had just come off of the M-Net reality TV Show 'High School Musical Spotlight South Africa' and was ready to take on one of my life long dreams of recording an album, and recording original material.

Now at that time I was still so young and naive about the industry, my goodness I was just so happy to be there. To be a part of something that gave my life meaning, some sort of purpose, but I never knew how hard it would eventually be. We worked really hard as a group, we toured extensively and performed at almost every event you can think of in the South African Afrikaans Music Industry, but unfortunately it all ended just as quickly as it started.

I was of course shattered, but I turned my focus onto myself and where I wanted to see my career going. Which leads me to my next realization, near the end of this article I said, and I quote: "Pieter Toerien is a great guy, and I hope to work with him again in the future" well, that dream became my reality in 2016 when I was cast in his production of 'Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat' and we were "going places"...

The production started off in Johannesburg and then toured to Cape Town, after its astounding success we went back to Johannesburg for a return season and then toured the show to my home town of Port Elizabeth! (That is another post all on it's own).

We then went back to Cape Town for a return season before jetting off to New Zealand to perform in Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington.

So to wrap this all up...

*Dreams can become a reality if you work towards them. Allow this to be the proof in the pudding.

Love,

E
